Once I was inside the ecosystem, something shifted. It became obvious to me that listening was the most powerful tool for refining my voice. My communication became more intentional. It moved away from having answers and toward staying curious — from performing expertise to focusing on my own intellectual lane. I realized I was carrying an internal pressure to perform in a certain way when, in reality, time is what shapes your journey as a Notion Ambassador. Expecting myself to reach certain milestones so quickly was unnecessary. Staying open and curious mattered far more.

Communication as the Doorway

Communication gave me access to balance. Curiosity allowed me to see how deeply my logical goals were fueled by emotion — and how often we use expectations to soothe ourselves instead of truly listening. Being curious cleared away excess noise and helped me focus my attention more intentionally, rather than getting caught in comparison.

Through communication, I began to see what I had been building without being fully conscious of it. I’ve been on a continuous journey with myself across different online professional communities, learning how to apply meaning to time and shape it through words, products, and systems like Notion. That shift in perspective helped me recognize that there are endless niche communities waiting to be explored — and curiosity is what opens the road to them.

Communication wasn’t a byproduct of the role. It was the initiation.

Curiosity Over Credentials

What surprised me most was having access to the people building these tools. In 2025, I found myself up close with builders — not just within Notion, but also across my world of web3. There’s something sobering about understanding why a project exists and the kind of mind that shapes it. These are everyday people who want to solve small problems on a grand scale.

Being in proximity to that kind of brilliance affirmed something simple but powerful: you can be yourself and still create things that help large communities solve their own problems. That realization softened my expectations and changed how I approach creation. Curiosity keeps me grounded, involved, and engaged — without needing to prove anything.

How My Voice Actually Changed

I stopped criticizing my voice — especially in moments where I used to overthink how I sounded in messages, meetings, or videos. I became more gentle with my mind and my approach. Instead of forcing myself to constantly go, go, go, I allowed myself to move at my own pace. I’m only one person, and I don’t need to operate as if I’m part of a large team.

This trust shows up in my refinement. It’s pushed me to get more hands-on with Notion and explore new ways of using it. I’m no longer afraid to audit my visibility online. I trust my perspective more. I trust that I can be proud of the work I’ve put in. And I trust that I have a unique point of view within a widely used productivity tool.

Closing

The first time I joined SheFi, I didn’t know what I was initiating.

The second time, I came back with clearer emotional edges and a need — not just to learn, but to land.

This piece isn’t about triumph. It’s about tracking the texture of return. This is for those of us who don’t build linearly.

The Advent Calendar Concept

It all started in 2020 when Camille Blanchod proposed an exciting idea to the rest of the ambassadors: let’s create a public-facing advent calendar filled with Notion-related freebies! We’d offer things like templates, graphic elements (think cover packs, avatars), and even occasional promotions on paid products.

Each day in December, we’d reveal a new “gift” for our community! A digital advent calendar isn’t something you see every day, and what’s awesome about a Notion-themed one is how easily accessible it is for anyone who’s tech-savvy. But even more than that, it’s a collective effort to spread some holiday cheer by sharing our unique skills and perspectives, all while celebrating something that’s at the heart of what we do—Notion.

My Templates Journey

Given the current landscape of our society, I know for a fact that art will rise, and art will be restored. As an artist—an actor, to be exact—it’s incredibly important to me that there’s a sense of seriousness when it comes to organizing your contributions and preparations. I often reflect on my time during my undergraduate studies and how crucial being organized was. So much changed once I graduated—things like artist websites and landing pages, which weren’t as emphasized when I was finishing school. That got me thinking: how can I create structure for artists? And that’s when the Actor’s Portfolio Template was born.

One thing that saddens me about the world of theatre is the lack of awareness around the seriousness that goes into a performance. Sometimes, as creatives, we enter the workforce, and people might not take us seriously as artists. Being an artist often involves a "flow state" of work, which can be hard for others to understand. But actors should absolutely be taken seriously. The work we do goes beyond the stage. We lend our voices to scientific journals, perform scenes for workplace training, and even serve as great speakers when calling in new clientele. The average person has about 6,200 thoughts a day! Now imagine with each thought you decide to open a tab or two in your browser 😵‍💫🥴😵‍💫, that’s kind of overwhelming, right? Sometimes we can get so inspired throughout the day that we have a lot of open-ended ideas that go to die in our browsers, bookmarks etc. Now, I’m not saying go in and close all your tabs & delete your saved things because obviously they serve a purpose or else you wouldn’t have that one tab open that hold, that one thing that inspired you about this other thing. What I am encouraging is for you to stop wherever you are in your digital pile up and organize some things. Some tabs in your browsers don’t have to be remain open; they could easily live as a bookmark or a favorite. By potentially having your thoughts physically linked to a tab on any of your devices you open yourself up to unorganized information cognitively, decision fatigue, feeling anxious from notification build up, device performance issues, storage problems, & wasting time.

I know you’re probably thinking, “Well, since you’ve got your degree and you know everything, what am I supposed to do, Kelsey?” Well, duh! I’m going to give you some ideas on how to manage your thoughtful inspirations. What I’m sharing are the same strategies I use to manage my own inspirations.

Screenshot Management

1. Set a time to audit your screenshots. Add notes or descriptions for a plan of action, add them to your Pinterest board like you intended, store them in a folder, and set a reminder for a storage time limit, like a delete-by date.

2. Categorize, organize, sort, & create an action plan for your screenshots as efficiently as possible.

Tab Management

1. Browse your tabs across your devices simply to get a grasp of your digital hoarding.

2. Consider cross-device synching to consolidate storage.

Device Strategies

1. You probably have tabs open on your smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, laptop, & desktop.

2. Assess what important & what’s simply taking up mental space.

ThoughtFlow Moodboard

So now that you know what type of things you have, what needs to be worked on, you probably need a workspace for this task. Here’s my version of a brain dumping workspace: ThoughtFlow for Notion.

This template is designed with & for Notion to streamline your ideation process by effortlessly capturing, categorizing, & prioritizing thoughts across work, personal, & learning domains. It features customizable tags, priority levels, & status tracking for enhanced productivity. I was talking with my aunt on the phone, & she mentioned that she needed to get a lot of stuff out of her head. I also know using her digital devices throughout her day is necessary, so I created a digital space for a problem I was facing but for a different reason.

The Brain Dump Process

Getting Started

• The more relaxed your environment is for you, the easier this process will be. For me, it sometimes looks like sitting on my couch, my YouTube “Watch Later” playlist going, while I am simply clearing the mental & digital debris.

• Time blocking is completely subjective & ultimately dependent on your schedule. Time free of distractions is best. Time blocks could look daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly. Maybe you do them after you finish projects for your work or personal life, or you do them after the holidays.

• Absolutely get ThoughtFlow for yourself. It’s often said that using Notion can be overwhelming, but this template doesn’t have to be. Its straightforward & easily accessible for Notion users.

Best Practices

• Personally, I brain dump daily to weekly; it depends on the month. I’m getting recipes, small tasks, grocery lists, gift lists, & movie & book recommendations into my ThoughtFlow template. Then I typically do a monthly review just because I average at least one project a month, so those thoughts & digital clutter associated with them have got to be cleared.

• To process & organize my thoughts, I typically journal with good old pen & paper. My plans of action are usually done in workspaces like Notion. I process screenshots by adding notes to them or put them in the action plan section of ThoughtFlow. I also make big batches of general directions I’d like to head towards in the next 2-3 months.

All in all, what I’d like for you, the reader, is to clear out digital debris from all your tech, download ThoughFlow so that you can walk into 2025 without the brain fog, and, more importantly, stop hoarding your ideas and put them into play. I cannot believe the year is almost over; oddly enough, it feels like the beginning of something wondrous. Each year for Thanksgiving my immediate family & I like to cook a non-traditional meal for our gathering and this year was no different. Our theme this year was Steakhouse! It is so different & some of these recipes can be prepared for any occasion.

Although Thanksgiving has been debunked in a way, I sincerely enjoy gathering with family and friends & the intentional slowing down of our daily lives to connect with people we do get to see too often.

Spinach Dip Recipe: Carolina Gelen’s recipe was so easy & it has a perfect consistency. I did adapt the recipe for my own needs; I used frozen spinach instead of fresh, cut out the blue cheese, & only used cream cheese, mozzarella & parmesan cheese. Serve with tortilla chips.

Fried Mac&Cheese Bites with Marinara: I used Annie’s White Cheddar Box Mac. Cook it according to the packaged directions however I added sour cream, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, & the same type of cheese from the spinach dip. Placed that mixture in a greased 8x8 baking pan & let it come to room temperature. Once cooled I place the pan in the freezer overnight so that the squares are easy to cut for Thanksgiving. In the morning the squares were breaded in panko & fried. Serve with your favorite store-bought marinara or homemade whichever works for you.

Steak: This Twitter thread by Miles Snider made our steaks top tier. Choose your favorite cut of meat & follow the thread instructions. You will not be disappointed. The steaks are paired with David Nguyen’s Black Pepper Gravy. One tip I’d really take when preparing the gravy is to prepare it early on so that it has time to thicken.

Asparagus: No fuss preparation here. Season with your favorite seasoning & slow roast to your desired tenderness.

Kale Caesar Salad: Taylor Farms Caesar Chopped Salad Kit Bag.

Corn Muffins: Jiffy Cornbread Mix. The honey butter is a stick of unsalted butter, honey, & kosher salt melted on the stove. Top each corn muffin with the butter as soon as they come out of the oven.

Creamed Corn: First time making this at home & I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that there are NO leftovers! Thank you Amy for sharing this recipe.

Mac&Cheese: Mommy made it so I cannot give you the sauce.

Sweet Potato Pie: Mommy did that again so no recipe HOWEVER that Pattie LaBelle Sweet Potato Pie does get the job done.

Cookie Brownie Skillet: Get premade cookie dough and place it in the bottom of a greased cast iron skillet pan. Then pour your favorite boxed brownie mix on top. Cook at 350. Check for the desired doneness. Serve with vanilla bean ice cream.

Final Thoughts: Probably one of our favorite non-traditional Thanksgiving meals. These recipes can easily be enjoyed outside of this day which I love. I also will more than likely cater from this point forward because cooking is very tedious and takes a lot of physical work.

On February 18th, 2022, we can expect to see a Virgo Full Moon at 3:42 am EST (this time varies based on your geographical location)

Mercury (ruler of Gemini and Virgo) influences Earth’s luminary. Mercury rules all things communication, contracts, and grammar, to name a few. Mercury is the only planet that is the expression of all worlds in our Solar System. Mercury is exalted (when a planet exalts in another celestial body, it has an elevated character) in Mercury, so basically, this Virgo Full Moon is asking you to seek minor approval from anyone outside of you (unless your decision is affecting more people than yourself)

The Virgo Full Moon asks us to call out ill-fitted patterns along our journey boldly. Now is a great time to be decisive about our choices, even if we can’t see the results of said choices as quickly as we desire. When you are assertive and present with your actions, you can grasp opportunities that change the trajectory of your life.

Virgo is mutable, feminine (yin), Earth. Virgo’s polarizing actions allow them to obtain whatever they desire. Whether you decide to tap into your inner hermit mode or choose to mingle like a pro, trust that you know your direction.

On March 2nd, 2022, we can expect to see a Pisces New Moon at 12:10 pm EST (this time varies based on your location)

New moons are usually the same sign as the Sun due to the Moon conjuncting the Sun. Neptune, Pisces's co-ruler, influences this month’s Moon. Keep in mind that the New Moon is a time to see the framework of your plans that are not yet finite.

Neptune energy is hard to assimilate to, so there will sometimes be a lack of clarity to an extent when the bright blue planet’s influence is concerned. Neptune rules the psyche. When Neptune is well aspected, you can guarantee genius-level results. When we look at it from an astrological view, Neptune is considered malefic, but that’s simply because it’s not fully understood.

Pisces rules the 12th house, which is correlated to the subconscious mind and is the opposite of Virgo. In the Pisces New Moon, you could find yourself in your world figuratively or literally. Pisces reminds me of the king crab in Moana, tucked away at the deepest depths of the oceans guarding its treasures. The month of March would be a great time to assess the prize you’re hoarding. Do you acquire some of these treasures because of genuine desire, or was it to smite someone else? Slowing down and balancing your space internally and externally is well encouraged at this time of the month.

A mutable, feminine (yin energy) sign, Pisces asks us this new Moon to nail heaven & hell to the cross. Slowing down and balancing our subconscious is one of the most extraordinary acts of self-care. Exalted in Venus (ruler of Libra & Taurus) fall & detriment in Mercury (ruler of Gemini & Virgo), self-love is expanded for the love of humanity. The Aquarius/Leo New&Full moon combo is setting the tone for the continued work in the month of March.

Moon Musings

Let’s learn some things about Full Moons before highlighting some expectations for this Leo Lumination:

• fulls moons are THE peak of the moon cycle (there are a total of 8 phases of the Moon during a process)

• whenever we have the Moon in a high place, its best to be hopeful + encouraged about where we are as well as what direction we aim to go towards

• complete moon activities include anything that will allow you to release, slow down, + take heed to what has begun to shape since the new Moon ( a time of planting)

The Full Moon is a time to purify + forgive. This task of purification will come easy when the Moon catches the influence of the Sun. Its mostly encouraged to release during this high lunation time because it will be more accessible to self-analyze (waning gibbous) as you continue to build. Leo rules the heart, and a purified (fire) nature makes it easier to travel emotionally. This full Moon will allow us to remain faithful + self-conscious as we continue to bolster our idealistic genius (Aquarius New Moon; February 1st, 2022)

Leos do not hesitate to blaze their trail as if everyone is watching because things are more fun with an audience; where can you embrace being seen by your manifestations? The Sun is a benefic celestial body, bringing a sense of high vitality (if well respected, of course), giving life, + germinating much in its path. Here we want to shine the internal rays of our heart space and cleanse.

Leo is fixed, masculine (yang), fire. Leo’s inflexibility allows them to command and assume responsibility. However, the Sun (Leo’s ruler) is exalted in no planets and falls in no planet; its detriment is in its sister sign Aquarius. Are you going to take this time to walk and chew gum?

It’s important to keep track of your growth that way; you’re always your reference point. Make each day a chapter and keep adding words to that story. ‘Sometimes the best medicine is to let go + walk away.’

This is a seriously sobering time since you are embracing the flow. Sometimes your transforming so often that your routines seem to go with them. This can cause the thought of not doing enough. Know that you’re always doing enough when you’re performing tasks that lead to a larger picture. There comes a period of silence that’s more valuable than overthinking. You’ll meet silence in personal ways that make you think it doesn’t have to be reserved to outside sources.

This year I started exploring actual spiritual gifts + how they resonate with me or why they choose those specific channels to resonate with me. As my consciousness for understanding myself become large, I started to look at the moon cycles + their various facts on an emotional journey. Why not now? I was asked that question, + it stuck with me.

So before I began writing to get to an understanding of my voice, I read some books. The Alchemist is a classic; this got me familiar with dreams + stories. The Aleph is written by Paulo Coelho as well + this got me familiar with synchronicities, signs, + kismet. Those two books were great, but the game-changer for me was The Untethered Soul. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t cry almost every chapter because it introduced me to THE self + it allowed me to see myself visually in my own mind.

Once I read, I wanted to take a moment to gather my current self before doing shadow work. I spent the entire year affirming what was current + affirming what I will be embodying at some point. I wanted to give myself the credit I deserve before I began correcting my course. This step is so beautiful because instead of my shadow work being rooted in desiring to be appealing to others, it’s rooted in being appealing to Spirit.

Tips for Affirmations:

• When writing affirmations, you want them to be in the active voice

• I personally write affirmations for things the things I am cultivating

• Write affirmations for the things that you presently have within + without
